Route: Nairobi → Laikipia → Camel-Supported Walking Route → Laikipia → Nairobi

1. Day 1

   Nairobi to Laikipia

   Following an early breakfast, the day begins with the road transfer from Nairobi to Laikipia, climbing through the central highlands past Nyeri and Nanyuki. Once you reach Laikipia there is time to check in before heading out among the open plateau, rocky outcrops and acacia country of Laikipia between Mount Kenya and the Rift Valley. Your guide works the area for elephant, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and a wide range of dryland birds, with sightings varying by season and conditions. Laikipia's private and community conservancies allow guided walking, which is not normally possible inside Kenya's national reserves. Your safari vehicle and guide are used by your party alone. The evening is spent at your Laikipia accommodation, with dinner and overnight there.

2. Day 2

   Laikipia Walking Safari — First Full Walking Day

The drive brings you back into Nairobi in the afternoon, where the safari comes to a close. Nairobi is the arrival and departure hub for most Kenyan safari itineraries. Arrival back is normally in the afternoon, with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport in Nairobi.
